As you may already be familiar with the standard configuration of having a tank on your back, have you instead heard of sidemount diving? This kind of configuration started as a necessity for advanced cave diving but has been growing in popularity with recreational divers as well.

Sidemount Lembongan Course Structure

Overall, the course will last two and a half days and will consist of one confined water and four open water dives, including one free fun dive. Anyone can strap two tanks to their side but it takes proper training to be a Sidemount Diver.

Consequently, you’ll be able to test out your sidemount configuration in the varied and beautiful environments of Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida.

Sidemount Course Gear

The sidemount gear you will be training with is the XDeep Stealth 2.0 Rec System. Since it is a tried and tested BC that allows for ease of adjustments, it will let you pick up skills for your Nusa Lembongan sidemount course in no time. Furthermore, you’ll be able to better distribute weight for optimal trim and easily secure the bungee systems.

Key Skills

  • Optimal assembly and configuration of sidemount scuba diving equipment.
  • Properly adjusting your weight system to achieve perfect balance and trim in the water
  • Correctly managing gas supply by switching between second stages as planned
  • How to deal with potential problems and emergencies specific to sidemount diving
  • Overall experience and guidance from your instructor

We did a sidemount course with Legend Diving and it was an amazing experience. Our instructor Fabi explained everything in details and it was easy to follow and understand. He also answered our questions clearly. The equipments are good and the environment in the dive center is comfy. We are able to finish all the skills with some practice and successfully get our certificate. In the fun dive, we saw a lot of mantas and amazing sea life. It is definitely an enjoyable experience diving here and I would recommend my friends here!

Me & my husband took the PADI SIDEMOUNT (recreation) course, and we were trained by Myra. Myra is very professional, knowledgable, friendly, passion….many more. Words are not enough to describe, is beyond my expectation. On top of that, other crews are very helpful & friendly too. They emphasize the safety of every diver on board. Definitely 💯 recommend to anyone who wish to dive at Lembongan/Penida, or taking a PADI dive lesson.

We had a great time diving with legend diving! It was the best dive we’ve personally done. Martin was very patient and great at explaining things, and kept making sure we were all happy with everything. He spotted some great fish too!! Both dives were the perfect amount of time, around 45-50 minutes which was perfect, and the reef sites were great! Thankyou very much :)
