Your goal is to create a comfortable learning environment that is both fun and educational. Though this is a serious topic, it is still important to make it an enjoyable experience for your students. Throughout the course, there will be a combination of independent study and classroom sessions led by your course director. In addition, we will conduct a series of simulations to further prepare you. This will be your chance to show us your teaching style and how you will evaluate your students.
Lastly, the Emergency O2 Provider Specialty will show you how to properly provide oxygen in the event of an emergency. We will familiarize ourselves with the different kinds of equipment, as well as run through different emergency scenarios. This is especially valuable as many countries, including Australia, require this knowledge in order to operate as a dive professional.

What’s Your Training Looks Like
PADI IDC Indonesia Course Structure
Our PADI IDC Indonesia program is done over 15-16 days. This will allow us the flexibility to focus on your development as a PADI Dive Instructor. You’ll get the individual attention needed to give you the confidence and skill to succeed. Throughout the course of your IDC, your schedule
will be mostly made up of half days in our air-conditioned classrooms and the other half in the pool for practical sessions. We will focus on realistic teaching techniques, with extra practical sessions added on top of the basic PADI curriculum. For example, we’ll run a Discover Scuba Dive simulation where you’ll take out your fellow classmates for a dive as if they are doing it for the first time. You’ll draw from the extensive experience from your Course Director to become the best you can be!
The PADI Instructor Development Course is divided into two parts: the Assistant Instructor Course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor program. These two together make up the IDC, which will culminate with you attending an official Instructor Examination – the final step to earning your PADI Instructor certification.
The key modules of your 15-16 day IDC will be as follows. It will also be preceded by 2 days of preparation. This is where you can brush up on your dive theory and skills while getting to know your PADI Course Director.
This will set the structure for your next two weeks with us. We’ll be able to clear up any anxiety you might have and go over what you’ll be doing. Additionally, you will also be able to do practice exams and explain the Instructor Examination.
During this module, we’ll go over how people learn, how they learn best, and the PADI system approach to training future divers.
You will create presentations for your fellow IDC candidates based on topics varying from open water, advanced open water, and other courses. This is to help you gain familiarity with teaching in a classroom setting. Furthermore, it is a practical exercise that will expand your breadth of knowledge and help fill in any gaps in your knowledge. Thus, you will be able to be a more prepared instructor after passing your exam.
We will go over the various Specialty Courses that PADI offers. You’ll become aware of each program’s goals, standards, and marketing. Doing your PADI IDC Indonesia with us will give you the special advantage of free workshops ranging from Self Reliant Diving to Adaptive Techniques!
Here, we will go over the DIVE TODAY Philosophy that PADI has promoted in the past few years. We’ll learn about the different discovery programs offered, including Discover Scuba Diving, Discover Snorkeling, and Skin Diver.
We will go over practical scenarios for conducting confined water dives. Practicing skills and adapting to different skills and needs of each diver is a cornerstone of this section. This will prepare you for the Open Water Teaching Presentation section of your Instructor Exam.
Similarly, we will go over the foundation of teaching students in open water. Besides adapting to each unique student, we will also focus on how to organize and schedule open water training dives. There are special considerations and exercises needed for this section.
Here, we’ll go over we’ll exam the business aspects of the dive industry. We will further our understanding of where the industry is going and determine the potential for growth. Furthermore, we’ll examine what appeals to people about diving and predict future trends. As a future dive instructor, you will have a very important role to play within the dive industry.
A strong degree of professionalism is the key to becoming a dive instructor. Therefore, we’ll go over what exactly are the PADI standards, how we can determine mastery, and what is quality management? This is a key module that will separate the good dive instructors from the best ones.
In this section, we will learn how to conduct the PADI Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, Divemaster, Experience, and Specialty Diver Programs. This is also where you will learn to become an Emergency First Response Instructor. Overall, you’ll master the understanding of the goals, philosophy, and benefits of each course. Additionally, we’ll also go over the marketing and promotion aspects for each course.
Though scuba diving is very safe when done properly, it is an extreme sport that carries out its risks. We will learn to manage the risks, as well as understand the area of common law as it relates to scuba instruction.
We will firstly go over the RDP tables, refreshing our understanding of them. Then, we will acquire a basis of how to best teach the RDP to our future students.
Lastly, we must learn how to use the skills we have mastered throughout the IDC by finding students to apply them to. There are many approaches to marketing diving, each with its unique advantages and challenges. You will be able to carefully consider which will work best for you in reaching new potential divers.
