What Does Your Training Involve

Marine Megafauna Identification Indonesia

The Marine Megafauna ID program will keep you engaged with a mixture of learning and adventure, spanning 3.5 days. Throughout the course, depending on sea conditions, you’ll visit varied dive sites like Padang Bai, Manta Point, Crystal Bay, and Penida North Coast

These sites are carefully chosen to ensure different experiences, maximize learning and encourage tons of fun. Indeed, this does more than improve your diving skills. It invites you to participate in marine protection, an adventure that brings both insight and satisfaction. So get ready to dive into the vibrant world of marine megafauna. Discover, learn, and contribute to preserving these oceanic giants. Your adventure awaits!

First off, dive into a two-hour theory class focusing on Manta rays and the illustrious Mola mola in Indonesia. Understanding these incredible creatures’ anatomy and behaviour will make your experiences beneath the waves even more rewarding.

Next, you kickstart the day with two thrilling morning dives. Submerged amongst the marine megafauna, you’ll observe these extraordinary creatures in their natural habitat. Following this, in the afternoon, you’ll tackle a theory class, this time focusing on turtles, their unique characteristics, and their role in the marine ecosystem.

The third day mirrors day 2. However, the afternoon theory class shifts focus to Sharks, exploring their mesmerising biology and diverse species.

Lastly, the course ends with two dives that put all your newfound knowledge into practice. After putting yourself in the company of marine megafauna one last time, you’ll spend the afternoon extracting identification pictures and submitting them to a web database. This activity, an essential part of marine research and conservation, adds a rewarding finish to your journey.
