What You Need to Know to Start Your Adventure

Requirement to Become PADI Course Director Indonesia?

Are you ready to achieve the pinnacle of teaching scuba diving? Completing your PADI Course Director Indonesia will enable you to run Instructor Development Courses. This opportunity allows you to mentor and train future instructors. As a result, you will have achieved the highest level of recreational scuba diving. Moreover, you will become one of the industry’s most respected and influential leaders.

Becoming a Course Director is certainly no easy task. It is only for the most devoted instructors. You will have to earn a position in a Course Director Training Course (CDTC). This is done through a stringent application process that will go through your past experience and reputation. Upon acceptance, you will attend a Course Director Training Course that will last 9 days. This will consist of a number of workshops, presentations, and in-water evaluations.

There are several requirements you must meet before applying to become a Course Director:

  • No Quality Assurance Complaints filed with PADI
  • Conducted every level of diver training according to PADI standards, as outlined in the Instructor Manual. Any modifications to the course must have been approved by PADI.
  • Exclusive usage of the PADI system, including dive manuals, videos, exams, lesson guides, etc.
  • Issued only PADI certifications to students.
  • Completed all System, Standards and Procedures portion of the IE exam with a score of 85% or higher.
  • The rest of the IE must have been completed with a score of 83% or higher.

Must have staffed at least 2 complete IDCs or a mix of two AI and two OWSI programs. Additionally, it’s recommended to have also one AI, one OWSI, and one full IDC after you are an IDC Staff Instructor. Lastly, it must have been done since the introduction of the current IDC curriculum

  • Working with a PADI Resort & Retail Association Member.
  • Organized or led 1 Project AWARE Dive Against Debris Cleanup.
  • Setup of a My Ocean Profile.
  • Promoted AWARE C-Card.
  • One additional Project AWARE event such as cleanup, Coral Watch, fundraising, etc. within the last 3 years.

PADI Course Director Indonesia Application

There are only two PADI Course Director Training Courses per year. One is held in March, in Kota Kinabalu Malaysia. Additionally, the other is held in the Dominican Republic in June. They usually hold a maximum of 40 students

each time. PADI will assess the competitiveness of your application in order to admit you.

Meeting the many requirements and handing in your application is just your first step. Furthermore, you must schedule an interview with PADI. During the interview, you will discuss your reasons for becoming a Course Director, your application, and anything that is relevant. After this final step, the PADI committee will then review all the materials to make a decision.
